Gym and Swim will be on Fridays, April 14-May 19, from 10am-12pm for ages 5 years old-5th grade. Please note that the first session on Friday, April 14 will just be an open swim time (no gym) and will be open to the public because of Raleigh County's Spring Break. Groups will be divided by age: 5 years old - 8 or 9 years old and 8 or 9 years old - 5th grade. It will include one hour of non structured swim time and one hour of parent led gym time. The younger group will have swim time first. We must have a adult in the pool if we have students younger than 6 participate. (This was a rule last year and so I assume it will be this year.)

YMCA Member pricing is $15 per family for the entire session. Non-member pricing is $25 for the first child and $5 for EACH additional child ( max of $40) for the entire session. This is not a week to week fee. You pay for the entire session, even if you have to miss some weeks. Swim lessons will not be offered for this session because of staffing. You will not pay REACH via paypal like we do for usual events. The YMCA has asked that each family REGISTER AND PAY AT THE YMCA. You may do this at the front desk when you arrive for the first session, so please allow extra time. You may also call or stop by before then and register. (If you call it may take a little longer if someone walks in and needs help.) You will  need to sign in at the desk each week and then proceed to the pool (younger group) or gym (older group).

We MUST have parent participation for the gym time or this event can't happen. MOST PARENTS (moms or dads:) will need to teach a gym class. There will be 10 sessions available to teach (5 for the younger group and 5 for the older). Ideas will be posted on facebook and spaces as well as what gym equipment we will have availble for you to use. There will be a link with a form that Amanda Slone created sent out to everyone who registers to sign up to teach gym. 

There MAY be a cap of 20 in the pool for each group. This was the rule last year and I still haven'y gotten confirmation if that is still the case. Because of this possible regulation, parents and older/younger siblings may not be allowed to get in the pool and swim like they usually do. We will have to see what the rule is and what the final number registered is before deciding that.
