R.E.A.C.H. Events & Activities

Throughout the year we offer a variety of events and activities to support and encourage homeschool families through physical activities, social interactions, field trips, and much more. Here are a few of the activities you can look forward to as a member of REACH.

What to Expect as a Member of R.E.A.C.H.

REACH WV homeschool classes

Co-op Classes - Co-op is a cooperative effort by parents to offer REACH students an environment where they can learn together in a group setting. It is held on Fridays for 7 consecutive weeks in the fall. We currently serve 150+ R.E.A.C.H members ages K-12th grade. Learn more about Co-op.

 

Gym & Swim - Gym & Swim is a cooperative effort by parents and the local YMCA. It is held on Fridays for 7 consecutive weeks in the spring. Students participate in learning basic water skills, swim strokes, as well as gym activities. We currently serve 75+ REACH members ages K-11 years old.

REACH High Gym Days - REACH High gym days are a cooperative effort by parents and a local gym. It is held on Fridays for 6 consecutive weeks in the spring. Students participate in various sports including, volleyball, soccer, basketball, and archery. We currently serve 75+ REACH members ages 12-18 years old.

 

Mom's Night Out - A Christmas party is held each school year for moms to celebrate and socialize. In addition, other various Mom's Night Out are scheduled to discuss different areas of homeschooling and offer support for one another.

 

Field Trips - We schedule several field trips throughout the year. Trips in the past have included Natural Bridge in VA, Organ Caves, Frontier Cultural Museum in VA, Someplace Special Gem Mine, the Clay Center in Charleston, Cass Scenic Railroad, Greenbank Observatory, and Raleigh Co. Solid Waste Authority.

 

Other Activities - We offer four themed skating events throughout the school year. “Christmas Skating” includes a make & take ornament. “Valentines Skating” includes a valentines exchange. In addition, we offer four bowling events, various park days, as well as an end of the year waterslide/pool party. Join REACH to view a complete list of our events offered for this school year! 

R.E.A.C.H. HIGH

REACH HIGH is a fast-growing group made up of junior high and high school students. Activities this year included paintball, basketball, and volleyball clinics, a canoe outing, picnics, ice skating, and geocaching to name a few. REACH HIGH is a great way for your pre-teen/teen to interact and participate in fun activities with their peers!
